State Rep. Cameron Henry Announces Bond Authorization for Upgrades to the Kraak Pump Station

State Rep. Cameron Henry, R-Jefferson, announced today that the Bond Commission will authorize an additional Line of Credit for a $500,000 allocation to upgrade the Upper Kraak Ditch Drainage pump station in Jefferson Parish at its next meeting October 21.

Cameron Henry, R-Jefferson, announced today that the Bond Commission will authorize an additional Line of Credit for a $500,000 allocation to upgrade the Upper Kraak Ditch Drainage pump station in Jefferson Parish at its next meeting October 21. The upgrading of the pump station at Upper Kraak Ditch includes increasing the pumping capacity from 110 cfs to 180 cubic feet per second, making intake basin modifications, and replacing the generator. This project will ultimately serve approximately 10,000 citizens.
The July 2010 Bond Commission reauthorizead a $650,000 Priority 1 Line of Credit for the project. The additional $500,000 Priority 2 allocation will bring the total allocation for the project to $1,150,000.
"The pumping station upgrades are vital to the continued growth and development of Jefferson and will ultimately benefit many citizens in Jefferson Parish. I want to thank the Office of the Governor who has been most helpful in all respects to grant our funding request. By working together, we have secured the funding to finance this important project," Rep. Henry said.
